What is Vanadium?

Vanadium was selected as the company’s name because we want to be the critical element that strengthens an organization, helps it to become more malleable, and enables you to withstand the pressures.

Vanadium is a chemical element with symbol V and atomic number 23.  It was first discovered in 1801 and named "vanadium" after the Scandinavian goddess of beauty and fertility,  Vanadís (Freyja), because of the many beautifully colored chemical compounds it produces.  This silvery metal is described by some as ductile, malleable, and not quite brittle, yet is harder than most meals and steels.

Because of its characteristics, Vanadium is generally known to strengthen, but it is also known for its lightweight qualities.  The most common ways Vanadium is used are:

  • Vanadium is used in steel for its tensile strength properties and resists corrosion.

  • The Model T made use of Vanadium steel in it chassis

  • Vanadium is used for magnets in computers

  • Researchers have created a new kind of computer chip using Vanadium, that could be the key to creating neuromorphic (brain-like) computers that can solve incredibly complex problems while consuming just 1% of the power of current chips.
